The Burg was constantly rebuilt during the centuries.
This is a part of the new Southern wing, designed by the dutch architect Pier van Nozzle in the 1600's.
In the late 1700's, the Grand Dukes abandoned the Burg and it fell into decay.
It was torn down in 1883.
